I can’t believe Carter and Diego’s idiotic plan to put sleeping agents in cookies and tea fucking worked. The first smile in weeks breaks across my face as I carry a sleeping Issy to the sofa while watching Mateo do the same with Raegan. The little banshee looks like an angel when she’s not beating on us.

Shit, these two are going to be spitting mad when they wake from their little naps and realize that we have taken off with Mia. A shudder runs through me at the thought of the violence that Raegan will put us through when we return. The little she-devil, who knew that personality lingered behind that quiet girl facade.

You’re worried about Raegan? You should be concerned about what Stella will do to all of you, including Diego. As far as we know, she has personally killed three people and probably had countless others murdered. What do you think she will do with the four of you once she wakes and realizes you absconded with her granddaughter and heir? The one that just returned from brutal captivity at the hands of a psycho. Well fuck, here’s hoping this all works out to plan and Mia still has feelings for us. Otherwise, we just signed our own death warrants.

“Are we all good in here?” Finn strolls into the room, looking lighter and filled with confidence. A look I haven’t seen in weeks, maybe even months, since all this shit started. The fucker got tasked with carrying Stella up to her room. We actually had to pull straws. None of us were willing to volunteer to be the one to handle her in case she wasn’t a hundred percent down for the count. Can you imagine what she would do to us if she wasn’t knocked the fuck out? My balls throb painfully and want to run and hide at just the thought of how Stella would cut them off and serve them to me.

“Yup, the queen of Manhattan is down for the count.” A wolfish grin crosses his lips.

“Carter and Diego have Mia?” The question raises my hackles. At first, I was worried about the two of them collecting Mia and taking her down to the hidden vehicle on the eastern side of the property. I wouldn’t put it past him to run away with her, and Diego to facilitate his getaway. The only thing that stopped me from refusing it be them was the need to repair shit with Carter.

Mateo and Finn are correct. We can’t continue on like this. We have never been at odds with each other in all our years of friendship. He is my brother, part of my heart, and my right-hand man. He wants Mia just as much as we do. He also knows she won’t only choose him. She’s made herself very clear from the beginning, it’s all of us or none of us.
